Santa Ops

The Hughson Volunteer Firefighters Association with the support of the Hughson Fire Protection District brings the Holiday spirit to the City of Hughson with the Santa Ops parade through the streets of Hughson every December.

This fun family event is much anticipated by both the members of the department and the community. With Santa Claus riding on top of a decorated and lighted fire engine playing holiday music, the fire department helps to spread some holiday cheer to the people we love to support and serve year round.

Chicken BBQ

Hughson Volunteer Firefighters Association Annual Chicken BBQ Fund Raiser

Save the Date – Our 2024 Chicken BBQ will be held on Saturday May 11th

In an effort to supplement the cost to operate the Hughson Fire Protection District (HFPD) and add some needed fire and rescue equipment, the Hughson Volunteer Firefighters Association holds an Annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser. The chicken BBQ was established 37 years ago and continues to be a successful fundraiser. In 2023 the department served approximately 2,300 chicken dinners.

From this fund raiser, the Volunteer Firefighters have purchased a multitude of emergency and rescue equipment. In recent years, the proceeds of the annual chicken BBQ have been used to assist the HFPD in the purchase of two new fire engines. These funds are anticipated to cover approximately 45 percent on the cost of the new fire engine purchased in 2014, and supplement the cost of the new engine purchased in 2020.

The Hughson Volunteer Firefighters that you for your support!

Fireworks Booth

Save the Dates

The 2024 Fireworks Booth will be open from June 28th thru July 4th. Booth hours are to be determined & announced as we get closer to June 28th. Thank you!

The Hughson Volunteer Firefighter’s Association appreciates the support shown through the years through the purchase of safe and sane fireworks at the Hughson Fire Department’s fireworks booth located on the corner of Pine and Charles St. in Hughson next to the fire station.

The funds raised are used to preserve the history of this wonderful fire district through the restoration and maintenance of former Hughson Fire Protection District apparatus. The community’s support for this important fund raiser continuous to fund this important cause along with bringing safety through the use of legal and safe fireworks.
